Dota 2 Battle Pass players are finally getting Baby Roshan statues
Some Dota 2 Battle Pass holders are finally getting the statues they were promised.?
In 2017, Valve rewarded Dota 2 Battle Pass players with sufficient poitns with Baby Roshan statues. From the promotional photos, it looked like a hefty and impressive statue with intricate details and a nickel silver finish. Here's one of those photos:?
Unfortunately, the final product looked like a cheap knock-off, muddied and lacking details. It wasn't the premium collectible fans had been hoping for. What made it even worse was that Battle Pass holders had to reach level 2000 to receive the Baby Roshan statue. For many players, that included either a hefty amount of grinding or just a lot of money spent.?
After a few players shared their statues on Reddit, along with some criticism, Valve responded.?
"We apologize to our fans for that, it is well below the quality we expected. We are going to start from scratch on new production for the statue, and prioritize delivering it as soon as possible to every customer that reached level 2000 last year," they said.?
Valve apparently took the feedback to heart and started to work on developing a new statue. According to the company's recent announcement on Reddit, the new collector's statues are individually handcrafted with high quality materials. The result is a larger, heavier, and more detailed statue.?
Valve also detailed that each year's statue will have its own unique base trim and finish to complement the theme of that year's Battle Pass. The 2017 Roshan is an antique gold with blue accent details on the base to match the Collector's Aegis.?
The 2018 statue, which will be shipped following the 2017 statue, is antique nickel with green accent details on the base.?
